Statement
Raised in the Texas Hill Country and working in Los Angeles, Kelly O'Brien paints riders, horses and open country as states of mind rather than scenes. Drawing on abstract expressionism and the visual language of the frontier, her canvases trade narrative for gesture, color and scale.
